A downloadable game

I chose to ignore the things happening and instead embrace the idea that they were somehow normal to have happen repeatedly, for months I convinced myself that I was normal and that these happenings were normal, until  eventually it had gotten so much worse and it was hard to be oblivious,"

Try to make your way through this short horror game and its plenty of tasks and scares without getting frightened!

As Reality Fades is a first person, VHS/Low-poly horror game that will be for PC’s and laptops. It features a main character that has had a sudden onset of mental illness that has not been treated or diagnosed at the point of the game - this mental illness being schizophrenia specifically - which only degrades and worsens as the game progresses, leading the character to be unsure of their own surroundings and ideas. The goal throughout is to find an escape from this increasingly bad mental issue without direct treatment - at least up until the ending of the game.

NOTES:

Headphones are highly recommended as audio plays a large part in this demos story elements and scares!

The team and I that made this project did so as full time students that are relatively still new to the areas of games design and development as a whole. Because of this we completely appreciate and will use any and all feedback that you guys can provide when it comes to the game as a whole so we can improve down the line! Regardless me and the rest of our little team hope anyone that plays this short demo has lots of fun doing so and we thank you all so much for testing it out!

Install instructions

Unzip the zip file, and simply load the .exe file included! Some things such as the settings menu and the shader compilation may either be buggy or need to take a moment on first time launches but after that first launch and wait things should run smooth assuming they don't already!
